[Oh Manipaaduka! You have a gold-lustre of red hue. You have a vital place in Ramayana etc. You move about only slowly. Gurus and learned ones cling to You. You shine like the sun. You are worshipped by eminent Brahmins. You stay put to the Lord's Feet permanently. (The planets, namely, the red Angaraka, Sukra alias Kavya, Sani who is slow moving, Guru and Budha, Soorya and Chandra-these encircle in their paths in the celestial sphere. They will prove auspicious in specific periods, being otherwise at other times.) But You are always auspicious as a peculiar planetary combination, unusual this way, conferring benefits on us permanently]

[
  1. 993 - Shanka Bruth -"One who has the divine conch named "Paanchajanya." The word meaning is this term pancha-janya is "that which is born of the five" (sense organs), so it stands for the mind. Mind being the seat of ego, the sastras declare that the conch in the divine hand of Sriman Narayana is the ego-factor (Ahamkaara-Tattva) in our personality.
  2. 994 - Nandhakee -The lord's sword is called Nandaka. Therefore,this term indicates one who holds and wields the Nandaka sword. The word Nanda-kam mean "that which brings bliss." The Sastras sing that the divine sword in the sacred hands of the Lord Sri Hari represents the knowledge-Spiritual (Vidyaa-Tattva) with which the seeker can destroy all his "ignorance" of the self in him.
  3. 995 - Chakree -"one who carries the discus called Sudarsana." The term Su-Darsana means "that gives the auspicious vision." The sastras attribute to this discus-Divine the representation of the human mind.
  4. 996 - Shaarnga Dhanvaa -"One who aims his unerring bow called Saarnga." This bow of Sriman Narayana is glorified in our texts as representing the Ego, as the 'apex' of all the sense organs, Ahankaara-Tattva. In this concluding Stanza, the instruments of Blessing in Sriman Narayana's hands are remembered with reverence and devotion.
  5. 997 - Gadhaa Dharaha -"One who holds his divine club (Mace) celebrated as Kaumodakee -which generates and spreads beauty and joy." This Mace is described as representing the intellect in man (Buddhi-Tattva).
  6. 998 - Rathaanga Paanir -"The traditional meaning is, of course, "One who has the 'wheel of the chariot' as his weapon." This means the discuss which already has been mentioned in this very Stanza as Chakree. But, there are others who would like to interpret this term in other ways. In a glorification-Hymn or devotional-Chant, repetition is no sin; in fact, it should be quite natural.
  7. 999 - Akshobhyaha -"One who cannot be exasperated by anyone, by any act or acts, however blasphemous they may be." One whose peace and calm cannot be stormed out by any happening in his outer world; Ever-peaceful. The term suggests Infinite patience, love and kindness towards man and his frailties.

  8. 1008 - Vaasudhevo - One who is at once both Vaasu and Deva. Vaasu means - One who dwells in the physical equipments of all living creatures as its indweller (Jeeva); Deva means - One who revels or One who illumines. [It is emphasised that the ubhaya vibhuti's (the two world eternal and material), Divya vigraham (Divine form), Divya avataaras (Divine incarnations) attributed to Bhagavan are always in association with Lakshmi inseperable and hence she is also the refuge to be sought after and to be attained like Bhagavan. Thus the reason for Alavandar to euologise Lakshmi first in this Chatus sloki even before praising the Lord (in the Stotra Ratnam) is that she will act as Purushakaara - that is mediatrix between us and the Lord and there by remove our fears in approaching the Lord, because of our sins of various dimensions. With this role of the mediatrix in mind, Alavandar praises Lakshmi, Lord's 'Patni' (consort) so that the Lord will be in a welcoming mood when approached.]

[Sri or Lakshmi is described as the Goddess of plenty, prosperity, compassion and Supreme authority. All the other gods and goddess are subordinate to her. She stays in Nithya-Vibhuti (Sri Vaikuntha) along with her Lord, Lord Vishnu. She is so great that even the Lord or herself does not know her greatness in full. Without her grace, none can aspire for any welfare either in this world or the other. Being an Acharya, even liberation can be got only through Her grace.]

These are dhvEshis like SisupAlan.
KoodArai vellum seer GovindhA: With His anantha kalyANa gunams (seer), the Lord wins them (vimukhAs)all over, one by one. He has different prescriptions as Viadhya Veera Raaghavan for each of the vimukhA patients though His The guNams like Souryam, Souseelyam, Soundharyam. Even IndrA, who sent a deluge of rain at Govardhanam ended up recognizing the Supermacy of the Lord & performed Govindha-PattAbhishEkam. Govindhan defeats the KoodAr and is defeated in turn by the Koodinavar through their Bhakthi/ prapatthi anushtAnams. He becomes YathOkthakAri to those devotees (Koodinavar). Through the speech of Gopis, ANDAL points out that the Lord incarnates to bring back the erring Jeevans under His sway; they stayed away earlier from Him and suffered as a result of their separation from Him. He could not bear with their sufferings. They (vimukhAs) observe later (thru a sadAchAryan) upAya anushtAnam (prapatthi) and get rewarded with parisukaL (SammAnam) that are coveted by the people of world (yaam perum sammAnam nadu puhazhum parisinAl).
Loka VilakshaNa sanmAnams (Abhinava Desikan): Five objects are mentioned here, which have links to the SanmmAnams that a Muktha Jeevan obtains in Sri Vaikuntam:
The five hundred apsaraas women greeting the muktha Jeevan with five different presents (satham mAlA hasthA: satham anjana hasthA; satham chUrNa hasthA; satham vAsO hasthA; satham phaNa hasthA:) at the other side of VirajA river. Then the "palkalanum aNivOm" experience happens to the Muktha jeevan through absorption of the Lord's divine fragrance and GnAna vikAsam (tamm Brahma gandha:pravisathi, Brahma tEja: pravisathi, Brahma yasa: pravisathi). The eight attributes are gained by them at this stage (apahathapApmA vijarO vimruthu: VisOkha: vijigathsOapipAsa: sathya kAma: sathya sankalpa:). They do not age, they conquer death and are freed from hunger, thirst et al. They enjoy BrahmAnandham (paal SOru mooda ney peythu muzhankai vazhi vaarak koodiyirunthu kuLirnthu). Associated with the nectar of anubhavam (paramAnnam) of the dhivya dampathis, they enjoy the company of other Muktha Jeevans. They enjoy this rarest of rare ShADguNyAnnam and accompanies the Lord, wherever He goes (KaamAnnI Kaamaroopi anusancharan). They enter the cool, nectarine pond of BrahmAnubhavam and are filled with bliss (yEsha Brahma pravishtOsmi greeshmE seethamiva Hrudham).
Until now, BhagavathArAdhanam (maanasIka and Bahir AaarAdhanam: ijyai/yAgam) were referred to in the paasurams. In this paasuram, the anuyAgam (antharyAmyAradhanam) is celebrated (Bhunjan chinthaya GOVINDHAM). Those who consume SaathvIka aahAram with the remembrance of Govindha naamam (according to aahAra niyamam) get the benefits of satthva-JnAnam and unceasing remembrance of the Lord (Aaahara Suddhou sathtva Sudhdi:, sathva suddhou dhruvA Smruthi:). Govindhan, the GuNa Poornan (seer Govindhan) grants them that boon. The BhOgya-BhUthars (BhakthAs) join with the BhOkthA (the EmperumAn) and enjoy the Saha BhOjanam described by KoushidhIki Upanishad in a state of never ending union with Him

[In the first Paadham (karavaikaL pinn senRu ghAnam sErnthuNpOm), the Gopis describe themselves as the ones, who seek their livelihood by tending to cattle in the forests and thus do NOT have sath-Kaarya Phalan.
In the second Paadham (aRivonRumillA Aaikkulatthu), they reveal their unfitness (apakarsha anusandhAnam) to pursue Bhakthi, GnAna Yogams. We are Tatthva-Hitha-PurushArtha GnAna Soonyars. "GnAnEna Heena: pasubhi: samAna:"
In the Third Paadham (piRavi peRumtanai puNNiyam yaam udayOm), they refer to the extraordinary BhAgyam of having KrishNA born as sajAthIyan in their Kulam.
In the fourth Paadham, the Gopis address Him as "KuRaivonRumillatha GovindhA". They celebrate here the moola Sukrutham (the fundamental, quintessential bhAgyam) of Isvara GuNa Poorthy (PrApya-Prapaka sangrahathvam and GuNa Thungathvam).
In the fifth Paadham (UnRannOduravEl namakku inku ozhikka ozhiyAthu), the Gopis celebrate the sambhandha GnAnam
In the sixth paadham (aRiyAtha piLLaikaLOm anbinAl), the Gopis identify themselves as the little country girls without awareness of lOka maryAdhai and without Bhakthi or GnAnam.
In the Seventh Paadham (UnraNNai siRu pEr azhaithtanavum sseRi aruLAthE), the Gopis seek PoorvAparAdha KshAmanam (forgiveness for previous trespasses).
In the eighth paadham, the Gopis address te Lord as "IRaivA" and request for Kaimkarya sampath (Nee ThArAi parai). Here UpAya apEkshai is made.

-- Composed by Bhagavad Srimad Ramanujacharya in recognition of the four most sacred centres of SriVaishnavism, viz., Srirangam, Tirumala, Kanchipuram and Melkote (known as Thirunarayanpuram among SriVaishnavas). The main deity in Srirangam is in a reclining posture and hence the place is called "Bhoga Mantapam" (House of Relaxation). Tirumala is called "Pushpa Mantapam" (House of Flowers) as the deity is always decorated with flowers. Kanchipuram is known as "Thyaga Mantapam" (House of Relinquishment) as the main deity bestows whatever boons the devotees seek. Thirunarayanapuram is known as "Gnana Mantapam" (House of Knowledge) as the main deity radiates knowledge.

Maanasika Aradhana:
This was as described in an extremely moving narration by Srimad Poundareekapuram Andavan during one of His discourses.

Maanasika Aradhana can be done in a couple of minutes or in a couple of hours based on our convenience. We all know that our heart is like an inverted Red lotus bud.
  • Assume that is has been made vertical in upright position and consider that it has fully bloomed as the Most Beautiful Red Lotus flower.
  • Imagine the Antharyaami, who is sitting on that flower- Our Lord, Emperumaan and Periya Piratti.
Right from waking our Dearest Emperumaan and Piraati from the Red Lotus considered to be bloomed to its full grown petals from an inverted heart of ours; Imagine:
  • Consider yourself seated at the corner at the feet of Divya dampati and perform Thirumanjana in you mind.
  • The most fragrant sambhirani smoke,
  • agarbatthis,
  • Adorning Them with the most valuable veshti and utthriyam with lots and lots of jarigai for Emperumaan and
  • Great, Gorgeous looking Most colourful pattu pudavai (silk sari) with rettai pettu jarigai and jarigai puttaah in the most beautiful bright, marvellous colour
  • Adorning Them with the world's costliest jewels, ranging from diamonda, Maanikkam, Gold, Coral, Emerald,
  • countless necklaces,
  • rings,
  • maalas,
  • saharanaama malai,
  • Most Fragrant, Big, Thulasi maalas,
  • Diamond kireetams (crowns) etc.
Just think of them; and visualize all this in your mind - Let us give Them the best that we can imagine;
  • We can imagine and visualise Their smile while wearing all that we offer;
  • One can continue with the japam of those sacred manthras while decorating Divya Damati;
  • One can visualise also his spouse taking part (we need not even ask them; that is also our imagination) in the alankaara kaimkaryam for the Piraati while the male member can decorate the Emperumaan with great love.
  • One can imagine any avathaar or any ishta deivam
    • Sri Sita Ram or
    • Sri RukmiNi KrishNan or
    • Sri RanganAyakI samEtha Sri RanganAthA or
    • Sri BhUmi Piraatti samEtha Oppliliappan or
    • Sri Lakshmi Narasimhan or
    • Any avathara of Lord Sriman Narayana
    • Any deity of Lord Sriman Narayana
  • While the alankaaram is about to be over, quickly one can (imagine) ask his spouse to bring from the kitchen the Prasaadha to be offered to The Divya Dampati with a pure clothing and great love and bhakti,
  • Imagine that there are a variety of dishes and amudhu for our Dearest Lord-
    • AkkAra adisil,
    • navaneetham (butter),
    • PuLiyOdharai,
    • sakkarai Pongal,
    • VeNpongal,
    • tasty curd rice,
    • kadalai paruppu suNdal (favourite for Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva PerumAL),
    • vadaparuppu,
    • pAnakam (for Sri Rama Navami)
  • Any combination of them in big Golden vessels so that they can partake of our offering sumptuously.
  • In addition offer the same to other bhakthas and Nityasooris present in Your Heart of Sri Vaikunta; Offer to everyone- all BhAgawathAs;
  • Ask them again if they need more and more of it;
  • Enjoy looking at the Lord, piraati and all devotees eating the prasadham with fullest enjoyment.
  • We have enough to offer to all His creations including the 33 crores of dEvAs even;
  • While They are all enjoying the prasaadhams, one may keep prostrating at Their Lotus Feet as many times as one can and ask for Their pardon for all our sins done knowingly and unknowingly
  • One can make Them sit on a "Oonjal" also decorated so nicely with flowers and ThuLasi and gently swing it so that They look at each other and smile at our sincere devotion, just like a small kid who tries to comb the mother's hair;
  • While They are having fun at the Oonjal, one may prostrate (without of course getting hit by the oonjal), at Their Lotus Feet;
  • They may feel sleepy and like to relax - one may request Them to walk unto the amsa dhULikA manjam nearby (also in your heart), and ask Them to lie down
  • One should also request the Periya Piraatti to lie down next to the Lord and assure Her that we (you and your spouse) will gently press Their legs and calf muscles and perform services (kaimkaryam) to Them
We can extend the list of activities with The Divya Damati and make this list bigger and bigger; It is all our anubhavam
We can do this only when there is less disturbance at home ;
That is why we should try to get up before others get up especially the little ones at home
If you have no time, you can quicken the process and complete the entire activity in less than five minutes
He knows all our problems and understands too!
